Which card and which driver is used in the station that plays the video stream? What kind of network configuration you have between the station and the video stream source (i.e., is the source in wired network and do you use bridging or routing)? Have you tested video playback with the same station with another AP (i.e., one that does not use Host AP driver)?

It should be OK without any additional configuration and there is not really that much to configure for this apart from starting modifying the code. There's only one case that would add some latency due to driver implementation: station to station bridging using driver code (i.e., ap_bridge_packets=1 and two stations associated to the same AP). This schedules packets to process context which might cause some extra latency.
