Secondary firmware version 1.4.2 is the only one I know _not_ to work in Host AP mode.. I don't know if Linksys have somewhat modified version of the Intersil firmware, but at least the original 1.4.2 firmware from Intersil does not seem to work in Host AP mode and this is fixed later (probably in 1.4.3, but at least 1.4.9 works fine).

I do not know how FreeBSD driver reports TX rate, but at least the firmware seems to always give it as 2 Mbps in Host AP mode (no matter which speed is really used). Some time ago, I modified Linux driver to figure the real TX rate from the TX frames when using host side TX rate controlling. Before this, it also used to show 2 Mbps TX rate in Host AP mode.
