A double pox upon me for not reading the FAQ!  

I ended up getting firmware version 1.3.5 from the Linksys Asia site. I had to set up a PC to do the flashing, but this version seemed to work fine in AP mode. I have tried the 1.4.9, but I run multiple cards in one system and I was having problems getting the beacon detect working (prism2_param 8 2) on all of the cards at one time. Not a big deal, but makes me a little uncomfortable.
