Both of my stations using linksys and cisco windows utilities indicate a rate of 11Mbps. However a "iwconfig" shows the following...

[root_at_buffalo root]# iwconfig

wlan0 IEEE 802.11-DS ESSID:"xxxxxxxxxx" Nickname:"buffalo"
          Mode:Master Frequency:2.462GHz Access Point: 00:06:25:A7:4A:73
          Bit Rate:2Mb/s Tx-Power:-8 dBm Sensitivity=1/3
          Retry min limit:8 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
          Encryption key:XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XX Encryption
mode:restricted
          Power Management:off
          Link Quality:0 Signal level:0 Noise level:0
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:7 Rx invalid frag:0
          Tx excessive retries:46 Invalid misc:12 Missed beacon:0

Why would the auto setting show 2Mbps? I am using a Linksys PCI wireless card.

Thanks
