This may or may not be the same problem, but I can make a Prism2.5 PCI card hang the system consistently if the kernel (2.4.18) is compiled with SMP support. Wireless clients can connect fine, and ping ithe AP fine, but as soon as I start a large file transfer the host system freezes. Recompiling without SMP or IO-APIC enabled seems to fix it.
