System locks on any download, uploads work ok

I am using the latest CVS with a DWL-520. Clients can connect to the machine, and upload, but as soon as we start a download, the whole machine locks hard. I'm runnin 2.4.19, and SMP is enabled.

I saw some issues like this in the archives, but no resolution. Any suggestions?
