a question about frame transmit

hi,     

    I have a question about frame transmission ,when a frame transmit,the seq_ctrl(the sequence number) is filled by firmware and the firmware deal with the ack .How can the transmitter know whether the frame transmit successfully or failed and retransmit the frame? How can the driver deal with retransmission?
