I seem to have run across an interesting issue recently with my gateway
system, which runs hostap in a bridged interface with a lan:
Sep 19 14:31:28 rivendell kernel: AP: packet to non-associated STA
00:50:56:00:00:03
Sep 19 14:31:28 rivendell kernel: AP: packet to non-associated STA
00:50:56:00:00:03
Sep 19 14:31:28 rivendell kernel: wlan0: Could not find STA for this TX
error
Sep 19 14:31:28 rivendell kernel: wlan0: Could not find STA for this TX
error
I found this after I noticed that when I was typing in an ssh session to the host with MAC 00:50:56:00:00:03 (a VMWare virtual machine), the gw's hd would spin quite a bit.
The VM is located on a host living on the wired lan. The ssh session originated on my laptop, connected via wireless.
These messages went away after I pinged the host in question from the gateway to get it's MAC in the ARP table.
Is this a bug?
