Check the RX_STATUS definitions in hostap_wlan.h. This include things like msgtype, macport.

It is the timestamp of the wlan card (the local card, not the client).

For what? This is included in the RX frames and I don't really see any use for that field.. But yes, if you need it, sure you could insert something there.
