I've been using the hostap driver for a while now with excellent results. There is however one problem that I've encountered that maybe someone can help me with.
When I try to send broadcast frames (ping -b) between APs using the pseudo adhoc mode (FromDS=1, ToDS=0), I experience latencies of 25 - 300 ms. By comparison, unicast ping latencies are 2ms or less. I have no idea why the latencies are so high on broadcast frames.
It appears that the latency is incurred on the first leg of the round trip. Has anyone else observed this behavior ? Any ideas on what might be causing this?
