AP/station mode

Hello,

I have downloaded, compiled, installed and ran the current code in ad-hoc mode with a Dell Truemobile 1150 PCMCIA card in a PCI->PCMCIA adaptor made by Tellus.

I think my problem is that I cannot seem to set the card into AP/station mode as mentioned in the readme files. The only options I have for the mode in iwconfig are auto/ad-hoc/managed/master/repeater and secondary.

I want to setup a bridge between my wired network and the wireless one for use with one wireless machine. At the moment if I create the bridge with eth0 and wlan0 I can still connect via the wired lan but cannot ping from the wireless lan

Im running 2.4.16 with pcmcia support in the kernel with pcmcia-cs 3.1.30 and wireless tools 23pre3. Am I missing something simple or are my problems more deep rooted?
