Today, I compiled hostap with PRISM2_HOSTAPD, then set the card to monitor mode,

I was able to listen to traffic on ethereal, I also modified hostapd.c to flood deauth packets out, it worked. I did ./hostapd -dd wlan0, instead of wlan0ap. Is this intentional? What are the ramifications?
