Linksys WPC11 setup issue

I have a wpc11 upgraded to the new firmware.. everthing seems to be setup correctly:

Here is the issue, when ever i look at the sig. ie with netstumbler.. it comes up for 1 or 2 sec and the dies off for another min or so. its enough for winblows xp to see the ap , and connect but you cant transmit data. i ran netstumbler for a extended period of time and you could only see the wmp11 about once every 30 sec. i remember having this problem with a dlink dwl-650 card ( on another system )but after i switched to a netgear it went away. any idea what the deal is ?
