Can't connect

Hi.

I have a D-Link 500/650 and am running on kernel 2.4.18 (had to upgrade from 2.4.9 because there were compile errors and unresolved symbols [even though I did a make clean etc]). I am trying to use the card with the Prism2-2002-05-19 driver to act as access point.

Everything compiles fine (kernel, pcmcia_cs 3.1.34 with Prism2 driver copied into directory), the driver loads up fine and my iBook (Apple iBook G3 700 MHz) with AirPort card sees the wireless network with the given name. If I enable "Encryption", it asks for a key but unregarding of my input it returns "Wrong key". With encryption disabled, I get an error message: "Error while logging on to selected AirPort network".

I have not set any bridge/routing on the Linux side and nothing on the iBook side either. The whole process of trying to connect does not yield any output in /var/log/messages, so I have no idea what's going on.

Below you can find the various configuration outputs etc. I tried to use wlansniff to see what is going on, but as soon as I enable monitoring 1 mode, the iBook does not "see" the network anymore :-(

Any help is appreciated, I am getting kinda frustrated ;)

Thanks in advance,

Daniel Seifert

When inserting the card, syslog shows:

ifconfig shows no wlan0, running ifconfig wlan0 192.168.2.1 sets up the interface correctly, but the overall behaviour doesn't change.

If you need any other output etc, I will glady send a follow up.
