Prism2 HostAP driver isn't a branch of wlan-ng.

Absolutly, wlan-ng relays its AP functionality on firmware, uploaded to the card SRAM. This firmware don't have a clear destribution-license, and no one (except Intersil) have the source code.
Prism2-HostAP driver runs using standard Prism2-Station firmware, used for time-critical functions (ack's ..), The rest of the work is done in the Kernel-Land (Future versions will relay some parts to the user-land)

No problem.
